Vintage Blue Yellow Floral Curtains Take Everywhere Bag
I still might make a dress from these vintage curtains. But for now, a handbag. I love these women who kept their old curtains, maybe thinking they might need them again or would do something else with them. Or maybe they just loved them that much, but felt like they needed to go with whatever was “new” in style. For me, that’s their legacy- that I can go to the estate sale and I have the opportunity to continue to tell the fabric’s story with a new item.
The bag is trimmed with olive green vinyl. The inside of the bag is lined with a vintage coordinating printed sheet and a layer of buckram sits between the outside and the lining to give it structure. It stands 15 inches tall without the ring handles. The bag is approximately 14 inches long and the base is 8 inches wide. The base is made of corrugated recycled plastic and the rings are acrylic. Inside sports a double pocket and the Chelle Summer label.
