I was only four, but I remember all the red, white, and blue of 1976. The patch and trim, both found at estate sales, are the perfect remembrance of the bicentennial. I paired them with strips of red, white, and blue canvas and trimmed the bag in navy blue vinyl.

The inside of the bag is lined with blue and white polka dots and a layer of buckram sits between the outside and the lining to give it structure. It stands 13 1/2 inches tall without the vinyl handles. The vinyl handles are 30 inches long. The bag is approximately 14 inches long and the base is 8 inches wide. The base is made of corrugated recycled plastic.. Inside sports a double pocket and the Chelle Summer label.
