The outside of the handbag is made from vinyl and the inside comes from a vintage sheet (the same print as the one on the aprons). The base of the handbag is made with a double layer of corrugated recycled plastic. The bag stands 17 inches tall with a base diameter of 10 inches. The bag also has an interior double pocket which fits a cell phone and keys nicely and is finished with metal grommets and rope handles, plus rope to close the top of the bag.

The Suicide Prevention & Exposure Laboratory (SPEL) at the College of Social Work at the University of Kentucky is the first known entity to be explicitly dedicated to examining suicide and the effects on those personally or professionally impacted. SPEL affords students, staff, and faculty from across campus the opportunity to engage in scholarship and research opportunities related to suicide. Through research and training, SPEL has the following goals:

1. Work to better understand how suicide impacts us personally and professional and reduce this impact

2. Understand how we can prevention suicide and disseminate this knowledge

3. Conduct basic research on factors contributing to suicide such as stigma, substance misuse and socio-demographic variables
